In our modern world, never have we had so little time to be present to the reality and beauty in ourselves, in others and in God's creation.

Restoring the Ability To Receive

In our modern times, the deep, intuitive, imaginative capacity to know God has been significantly impaired by the dominance of the exclusively rational, 'thinking mind'.  As a result, our capacity to receive is shut down by culture, generational sin, personal pain and other attacks on our capacity to be fully human. We are painfully diminished in our capacity to love and receive love, and to know God rather than simply know about Him.

Through love, we seek the wholeness and maturity of every person through the revealed reality of the Cross. The wounds that heal us, that save, are transformational. In this spirit, the foundational values of our work include:

  • Prayer

  • Healing

  • Celebration

  • Intimacy

  • Being

  • Conversation

  • Humility

  • Rhythm (Work, Play, Rest)

  • Meekness

  • Unity

We cannot discover the source of our natural life through common sense and reasoning, and Jesus is teaching that growth in our spiritual life comes not from focusing directly on it, but from concentrating on our Father in heaven.

Why the verbena flower?

The verbena plant and flower has long been associated with healing. In the early Christian era, folk legend stated that V. officinalis was used to staunch Jesus' wounds after his removal from the cross. It was consequently called "holy herb.” In the context of the Foundation, the plant symbolizes the transformational power of the Incarnation, Crucifixion and Resurrection in lives of the individual and in the broader Body of Christ.
